About the project
"The North Is Near" expedition is a journey of a group of enthusiasts in Burlak all-terrain vehicles. Over 6 thousand kilometers from Novy Urengoy to Anadyr on off-road terrain unprepared for movement of standard vehicles. The plans of the expedition are to visit inhabited localities, which, for most of the year, can be reached only in rarely favorable weather or by air. The expedition dates are from March 5th to April 10th, 2019.
Mission
Our mission is to prove that many inhabited localities of the Russian North are not so far away and cut off from civilization, as it seems if you have the latest all-terrain vehicles. And even the severe weather conditions and off-road are no longer an obstacle.
